Padded Floor

A padded floor has many advantages. It provides comfort, whether standing or kneeling. Another advantage is that of grip. The rubber pads reduce the risk of slippage and absorb some of the impact if a fall were to occur.

Floor padding is a common sight at a FIRST tournament. But many teams fail to realize one hazard caused by flooring, and it is that it can create a tripping hazard. This is especially the case if you use the modular square pads with tab connectors, as these often bend and curl upward. It can also be difficult to drive a robot cart over padding flooring depending on how thick the padding is. This problem is easy to solve with a sloped edge along the front.
