FIRST is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring young people to pursue an education in Science & Technology, while building confidence, knowledge, and life-skills. Our name stands for Community of Robotic Engineers, and that is just what we are-we are from Waukesha, Wisconsin and accept students from any three of our community high schools, two preparatory academies, and homeschool students from the area. We are part of a larger organization called FIRST. To read more about them, read the section below. We pair them up with great mentors who teach them the fundamentals of robotics and other life skills.

Material Safety Data Sheet

Material safety data sheet (MSDS) is used in all businesses and industries. These should be kept on hand for all FIRST robotics teams. There should be a MSDS sheet for every chemical used by your robotics team. Material safety data sheets can usually be found on the retailers’ website or by calling and requesting it from the retailer. All MSDS sheets will include the chemical name, common name, and all of the ingredients in the chemical. The sheets also include information on first aid for the chemical (if ingestion, contact with eyes and/or skin), the flammability of the chemical, extinguishing any chemical fires, and the proper disposal of the chemical.
