CORE: Data Breach

Hello Supporters of CORE, and welcome to the first post of the 2021 Build Season!

In the spirit of FIRST’s Game Design Challenge, CORE has decided to do something completely new this season: we will be playing a game designed entirely by the students.

In CORE: Data Breach, each alliance’s mission is to upload as many data packets as they can into different levels of the cloud and to raise their firewall before a computer virus attacks.

Data Breach field design

The data packets–beanbags–will be launched onto varying cloud levels (the circle, square, and center platforms on the field above) to score points. In the endgame, the robots much reach the main data centers at the center of the field and climb to raise their firewall.

This unconventional season has allowed us to face new challenges; instead of facing other teams, CORE has been divided into two alliances. Each alliance will be designing a robot to play Data Breach. On the playing field, each alliance will be in control of their challenge robot as well as a defense bot.

Though many things are still uncertain, we know that we will have a blast with this challenge. We invite you to take a closer look at our game manual, which outlines the details of CORE: Data Breach.
