FIRST encourages the exploration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This way, students are prepared for various future careers and innovations. To FIRST, and to our team, this mission is about shaping the world by preparing the people who will shape it.

One of our team’s goals is to spread this message to as many people as possible. As FIRST has changed our lives in unbelievable ways, we feel that it is important to let people know about it. Our team is willing to talk about FIRST to anybody who is willing to listen. We do our best to actively promote FIRST in our schools, community, and in companies around the nation.

In our schools, we feel as though we have changed the “geeky” stereotype placed on engineering students because of our involvement and successes in FIRST Robotics. Once people learn the mission of FIRST and discover what our high school students are learning about, they are often speechless. FIRST offers an incredible, exciting learning opportunity to anyone who participates, students and mentors alike.

Through the skills learned in FIRST, we have managed to integrate robotics into our schools culture more effectively. The mechanical sub-team used its expertise to design a t-shirt cannon to use during the pep rally, our outreach sub-team coordinated with the school administration to start collecting box tops and milk caps for education. In our growth as a FRC team we have continued to change our school’s education.
