In 2009 we returned for the 3^rd time to the Wisconsin Regional in Milwaukee. We were excited to get our robot Mizuki up and running to see what it could do in competition. Mizuki was looking good with only a few slight fixes and modifications along the way. We took some hard hits, but we were able to recover thanks to our spectacular mechanical team that knew the ins and outs of the robot very well. We made it to the semi finals with teams 167 and 1736 but got eliminated when we lost both matches. Throughout the competition, we received many complements from judges and other teams about the creativity of our robot, the gracious professionalism of our team, and our safety procedures in and out of the pit. We did not go home empty handed; C.O.R.E. won the Motorola Quality Award, the UL Industrial Safety Award.
