Drivetrain

The drive train sub-team is responsible for designing and creating the drive train for the robot. This team must work with different gear ratios to find a sufficient balance between acceleration and torque.

Special Function Group

This sub-team is responsible for creating any form of mechanical manipulator required by the current years challenge. They work closely with the controls and programming teams to ensure that provisions are made to allow for the device. In previous years, this sub-team has been responsible for creating a scissor lift mechanism, staged lift system, and ball collection and shooting device.

Chassis

The chassis sub team is responsible for fabricating designing and fabricating the frame/chassis for the robot. The team must make sure that the robot will be under the maximum dimensions and ensure that provisions are made for motor mounts, a battery, and any other manipulators or items that will need to be mounted on the robot.
