Last week of build season
7 days and counting………
We had a programming night (last night). We tried keeping the mechanical guys away (impossible) for an evening so the programmers could do their magic and keep tweaking. We were able to do more extensive testing after their work.
Mechanically, it’s all working. A couple minor glitches that should be easily fixed, such as maintaining hook orientation as desired (up or down).
Programming all seems good. Testing of the autonomous program was better than expected (at this point).
Actuator WORKS. It should easily clear both bumps with an ideal movement. Interestingly, even with the ball as far to the side as possible (touching one wheel) we still get an adequate discharge of energy.
Driver was able to get about an hour or so of driving in. He is getting a real feel for the robot and its capabilities.
COG concerns are all gone. Maneuvering over the speed bumps are now an accomplished task.
We are feeling good at this point but still need to work on reducing weight and finishing the bumpers.
