Up until this point in time, whenever multiple high schools have been covered by the local newspaper or television stations, they have always been referred to as rivals. Now, when we are featured in the newspapers, we read headlines such as, “Robot brings peace between Waukesha High Schools. Competition unites students from North, South and West for first time.” No one would have thought fierce competition would unite our schools, but robotics is a different type of competition. Our name says a lot about us. We chose our name because of the word “community.” Without our community, our team would not be where we are today. As the students from the three schools joined together, they complimented each other to create a team with a tremendous amount of talent and enthusiasm. Barriers were broken and friendships that will last a lifetime were forged.
