One of our team’s goals is to spread the message of FIRST to as many people as possible. FIRST has changed our lives in unbelievable ways and we feel it is important that we let people know about it. Our team is willing to talk about FIRST to anybody who is willing to listen. We attend various community events and activities to let people know what it is that we take part in. We actively promote FIRST in our school, community, and in companies around the nation. We feel as though we have changed the “geeky” stereotype placed on engineering students in our schools because of our involvement and successes in FIRST Robotics. Once people learn about the mission of FIRST and they discover what it is that high school students are learning about they are often speechless. FIRST is like no other program, offering an incredible, exciting learning opportunity to anyone who participates, students and mentors alike. This program has been such an incredible experience for us we try to tell everybody we can about it and are always willing to help other groups start teams.
